We bought this for my 8 year old to practice with. He is now 11 and he is getting a 22lr. This rifle is awesome we bought some pellets made for shooting squirrels and he's a good shot. We've not had any problems and it gave him a chance to keep things slowed down pumping it up and loading each pellet. He had to be very purposefull when he shot because he had one chance. He's gone through thousands of rounds. Him and his dog going down to shoot frogs. Lol
