taurus pt709 is rated excellent by me. i bought it for 3 reasons. 1- buds low price. 2-my local gun dealer has his FFL on file with buds, making things quick and easy. 3-taurus has a lifetime warranty. this 9mm pistol shoots nicely with any type of ammo. i had had zero malfunctions. even hollow point ammo works perfectly. the trigger pull is a bit more stiff than i want, but normal for this type of pistol. the take apart instructions are not perfect. there are two take down levers, one on each side of the slide. both must be pulled to take the slide off. overall it is compact, easy to use and carry. i bought some finger grip magazine bottoms which made a huge improvement to the overall ergonomics. i suggest this highly.
