This is an amazing handgun. It looks incredible, feels fantatastic to hold, to rack the slide, with a very crisp, light trigger pull. This looks and feels like it cost twice the price. The stainless/black is just plain gorgeous. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but the quality is very easy to see and feel. The target night sights are also very nice and high quality. This is an excellent value for under $1,000. It looks like it could cost $2,500 if made by a high-end 1911 company. Springfield makes exquisite quality 1911s.

WOW, absolutely gorgeous 1911, fantastic, amazing, silky smooth slide, excellent target night sights, comfy yet grippy G10 grips, amazing quality for under $1,000. Feels like a custom gun costing 2x or 3x this one, buy one, this is really beautiful. This is my favorite Springfield so far. This is $400 less than a TRP Armory Coat (similar to FBI gun), so this is an excellent value and very high quality. Did I mention that this 1911 is absolutely gorgeous? Maybe it should be a flip-out centerfold photo in Guns & Ammo.
