  No, first and foremost Hi-Point carbines are banned by name in CT. Of secondary importance, the fin grip is still not compliant as it qualifies as "a grip, such as a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock, or other stock, the use of which would allow an individual to grip the weapon, resulting in any finger on the trigger hand in addition to the trigger finger being directly below any portion of the action of the weapon when firing"

• Q: I know 2 of the answers to my last question said that the fin grip is not NY legal. My local FFL told me recently the fin grip is how they could make this gun legal in NY, but it also couldn't have a threaded barrel. They can fix that issue too and make it NY legal, but what I want to know is does this version have a threaded barrel?

  Anthony, this does have a threaded barrel. All new production hipoint carbines do. Unfortunately buds will not ship a firearm that isn't already state compliant to have work done on it. It has to be state compliant to purchase it. Sorry but hope this helps.

  Anthony, I would confirm with your NY FFL Dealer first because whether or not the California line of rifles is "legal" is up to whatever FFL you want to transfer it. Some FFLs are comfortable with "fin" wraps and some are not. Nobody knows for sure what the legislatures intent was when they wrote the law, and the NYSP hasn't clarified like the CA DOJ has.
