Can you shoot slugs out of any shot guns ? Say a mossberg 500 ?
For the most part, yes. Rifled slugs are meant to be stablized out of any smoothbore shotguns. They should function just fine as long as you don't have a full choke on your shotgun.
Daniel, Any modern shotgun like the Mossberg 500 will handle slugs.
Daniel, yes you can for "Modified" or lessor choked shotguns. It is a general rule of thumb to avoid shooting slugs through "Full" Choked shotguns.

Daniel - avoid shooting a slug in a full or extra full choke shotgun, period. It is a safety hazard. Modified chokes are "OK" .. Open/imp cyl chokes are great.
