Ruger American Compact 7mm-08 Remington Bolt Action Rifle - Blue/Black, 18" Barrel, 4+1 Rounds, Synthetic Stock

This is my 3rd different Ruger American Rifle which i recently purchased here at Bud's, and all I can say is I love it. Compact, light, and no issues with hitting targets out to 300yrds (farthest I've tested so far) using 7 different brands of various weight bullets. I'm getting sub-one inch groups at 100yards using Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertip 140 Grain bullets. I'm also getting great performance using Privi Partisan 140 grain soft points too, so, lots of choices for those who do not want to reload ammunition for this caliber and don't want to break the bank buying premium brand ammunition. After sighting in the rifle I contacted Ruger Customer Support and after verifying Ser # to ensure it's compatible, I purchased from them the AICS magazine well conversion kit. Rifle performed great with box mag, but, the added versatility of using different cartridge capacity AICS's magazines has made things more fun for me. Either way, you can't go wrong with this rifle, and better yet, at this price !

I bought this rifle for my 10 year old son for deer hunting. Mounted a Vortex 3X12 56 mm scope on it. This is a very good gun for young hunters. Relatively low recoil and compact. So far he's made 2 shots and 2 kills around the 100 yard range using the Hornady SST 139gr.

Love this rifle! The bolt is tight and the trigger pull is crisp right out of the box. I am not cracked up with the trigger safety but this is still a great firearm for the money and Buds is the best place to buy it!
