Browning BAR SHORTTRAC HYBRID NO SGT - 22" Barrel, 4 Rounds

I am very very pleased with the Browning BAR I bought from Budsgunshop.com. I plan on buying other items from them. they are honest and have grat prices.

Incredibly accurate for a semi auto rifle. Shot a variety of factory rounds though it. All the 180 grain ammo produced 1" groups or less at 100 yards. 165 grain Federal Sierra game king were about 1.5" groups. The action was very fast in rapid fire, and the barrel accuracy did not significantly get less accurate when it got very hot. I used two factory magazines, and both fed without issues. The stock is rubberized with grip panels, and is designed for all weather hunting. At 5'11", the ergonomics with the factory set up were perfect for me. The recoil pad soaked up the light recoil from the .308, despite being a very light rifle. The magazine and recoil springs were tight out of the box, which made the bolt lock up nice and solid. The 22" barrel is the perfect all around length for brush and long range shooting. It Is very similar to my Benelli R1, but the R1 is more refined and a bit more finicky on ammo. I threw a 2-10x42 scope on it, which is a good setup for this rifle. I'd recommend this rifle in the right caliber for any big game hunting in North America. As usual, the Buds transaction was trouble free, and the rifle was in perfect condition when it arrived at my FFL.
