• Q: i am looking at the colt le6940 ar15 carbine sa 223/556. this will be my first ar. the research ive done out on the net says you cant shoot a 556 out of a 223 chamber, so im thinking this rifle is chambered for a 556 that way it can shoot a 223, is this correct?

  Yes you are correct it is chambered for the 5.56 but .223 will work just fine the barrel is marked .223/5.56

• Q: I would like to either get a red dot or scope for that rifle that allows me to use the foldable iron sights if i need to. so it has to have some clearance and not be too long. Will be using it for hunting and long range target practice. any thoughts? thank you

  either will work if you are doing more long range or even 100 yard shooting a scope would work better for fast paced close in work a red dot is much better I run a red dot with a 1 inch riser which make it co-witness with my iron sights

• Q: Recently bought this AR after alot of comparison and thoughts. I have to say little disappointed it does not have "LE 6940" engraved on it.

  Sorry about this Zakaria. Buds and other online retailers should put more effort in adequately describing and providing quality pictures of firearms to prevent just such an occurrence. I hope you still enjoy your quality rifle just the same.

• Q: I have a Nikon rimfire ProStaff scope. Can I use it on that Colt AR, or do I have to buy a new one? if I have to buy one, whats your suggestions? Thank you.

  it will work just fine and should withstand the 223/5.56 recoil just fine now a heavier recoiling round would be problems
