  it depends on your definition of better the Ruger GP100 is the strongest action available it is a lot more gun than the taurus (which can be hit or miss on quality) In this case you get what you pay for that said if you just want to shoot 38 special at the range then the tarurs or rossi would be fine

• Q: I noticed that the safety field for this model shows N/A, whereas all of the other GP100's show "transfer bar". Does this model truly not have a transfer bar, or is this a mistake?

  John, yes Sir you can, all day long. This is a 357 Magnum which is much more powerful than the lesser 38+P.
