Its ammo picky and has tight tolerances I dont recommend black powder rounds it fouls up and is hard to use after ten rounds

Great gun fun to shoot just had some problems with FMJ switched to lead no problem. Buds is also great to deal with

AHHH YES MY WONDERFUL S&W SCOFIELD #3....I LOVE TO SHOOT IT...SOMETIMES I ALTERNATE W/BLACK POWDER JUST TO FEEL THE BOUNCE AND SMOKE. I SPRAY THE BRASS FRONT SIGHT WITH A SHOT OF 'SIGHT BLACKENER'...NEVER A FLAW...LOVE IT. IT'S MY FAVORITE 'TIME TRIPPER'.

After receiving and accepting the transfer, I soon found some issues with this otherwise beautiful revolver. The first major issue was that the import safety was not working properly and prevented the firing pin from making contact with the cartridge primer when the trigger was pulled. Simple enough fix to remove it, but this of course violated the warranty. The other problems were a very heavy hammer and trigger pull. Cocking took significant effort, and the trigger pull was off the chart on my trigger pull gauge at 8-plus pounds. This is pretty atrocious for a single action revolver. The final issue was the most dangerous- the cylinder would intermittently over index and fail to align with the barrel. This resulted in a non-fire due to the firing pin not aligning with the primer, but could result in firing out of battery, a hazardous situation for the revolver and operator. The revolver is now in the hands of a gunsmith and will hopefully be turned into a smooth, reliable, and safe shooter. It certainly was not out of the box! Mechanical issues aside, the fit and finish were very nearly perfect. Buds was great as always, but sadly this purchase shows that Uberti still has some quality control problems even with their more expensive products.

I purchased the Uberti 2nd Model 1875 Top Break 5" .45LC from Buds in Dec 2013. Haven't used it very often and have only a few hundred factory loads down the barrel. Enjoyable to shoot steel and a bit different palm fit/feel than normal Colt type cowboy types. Fit is neither better nor worse than Colt, just different.

Excellent purchasing experience with Buds. Everything was as advertised. The gun has excellent fit and finish. Great looking reproduction.
