I got this product despite the mixed reviews both online and by word-of-mouth. The idea is simple and it makes sense hypothetically, and with the price tag I figured, why not give it a shot.
And a shot it gave. Installation was easy enough. However, this item clearly states on the packaging that it is supposed to add 2 to 45ACP and 10mm Glock magazines. And it does, sorta. I put this on my Glock 21 magazine with a standard 13 round mag cap.
The 14th round went in easy enough, but left you with a very distinct and atrocious rattle in the magazine. Even when loaded in the firearm, you can hear the rattle of the eighth cartridge free floating in the magazine. So that was no good with 14 rounds.
15 rounds (13 standard 2) was a chore to even get in the magazine. This took away the rattle, but when loaded in the gun, made manipulating the slide extremely difficult. When you did manage to get the slide back and rechamber a round, the casing of the top round was bent from the force of being pressed up against the slide.
A Glock 21 is a full size gun, so you don’t normally need a pinky extension on your magazine. So that kind of defeats that purpose offered by the product.
It does look cool, but when the 14th rounds rattles in my CCW holster, and the 15th round makes the bottom of my magazine look like the Michelin Man squeezed into pants two sizes too small... it no longer resides on my magazine. I put the stock mag plate back on.
The second star is merely because of price. I’m not out the $40 I would have been if I bought an Arredondo or something like that. I did load 15 rounds in it and test drop it (both on the top and bottom of the mag) from shoulder height with no issues. However, if 15 rounds stayed in it long enough, I could see how the polymer magazine and floor plate could warp and give out under the immense pressure (I have seen several reviews of this happening). NOTE: I did not test this with live fire.
If you really want to squeeze a couple extra rounds into your 45 or 10mm, I would direct you to look elsewhere.
This may work fine for 9mm, but in my experience, not so much for 45 acp.

These are the best magazine extensions for the 45 and 10mm Glock magazines. They use the same (or very similar) polymer to Glock's frame, and they have the same texture as the grip. Thus when installed they look and feel like a natural part of the gun, unlike one of those ugly foreign object extensions. Further, their installation does not require cutting the small flaps on the magazine, and if needed you can go back to the factory plate. Last, but not least, if your Glock has a frame plug installed, these magazine extensions are compatible with it.
