Bad product jams continuously , works at 25 single shot intervals don't recommend.

So I finally got to the range with my new mags and man what a disappointment. Both mags couldn't feed beyond 1 round. The first round is all you get. My XD45 Mod.2 just never fails. The four factory mags I have as well as the firearm itself have never had a FTF... until now. Not recommended at all. Skip this product unless you like to problem solve with bad engineering. I really wish I had my money back. This is a $50 lesson that I will remember.

Springfield XD 25 round Promag. As far as I know this is the highest cap mag for the XD 45acp. Bear Creek was making an 18rd but $$. I own 7 of these Promag SPR-A9. They are not 100% reliable but they sure are fun. The inside of the mag feels rough and gritty, the spring is weak and the follower is a brittle unpolished pc of plastic. The weak spring allowed me to cram 28 rds into the mag and still insert it into the gun. I later added Pearce PGXD45 extensions to 2 of them and they now fit and function for a total of 30 rounds in the mag and the optional 1 in the chamber. I cleaned the inside of the mags with Big 45 Frontier which helped a little. I switched the follower out with some from my OEM Spfd mags and that helped a lot. Still looking for a solution for the spring. Reliability: 1st mag owned 1) 20rds XDMc 3.8= 4 jams 2) 28rds XDMc 3.8= 6 jams 3) 30rds XDMc 3.8= 1 jam 4) 30rds XD 5" Tac= 0 jams 5) 30rds XDM 4.5= 0 jams 6) 30rds XDMc 3.8= 0 jams 7) 30rds XD 5" Tac= 1 jam 8) 30rds XD Tac Mechtech= 0 jams 9) 30rds XD Tac Mechtech= 0 jams Reliability 2nd mag owned 1) 30rds XDMc 3.8= 3 jams 2) 30rds XD Tac Mechtech= o jams Conclusion: The weak spring and gritty follower are a bad combo but for the price ~$25 this is well worth trying. Many jams were due to limp wrist and once that was resolved reliability was 99%. When running in the XD Tac frame with a Mechtech Upper reliability was 100%. I will probably buy more in the future as there are 7 various XD 45s in the family but I know that they need some tlc right out of the box. Maybe someday I'll modify these to run in a Beretta CX4.
