Beretta 21A Bobcat Silver-Black Gorilla .22 LR 2.9" Tip-Up Barrel, 7+1 - 2.9" Barrel, 7 Rounds

Bad a** little pistol! Shoots well. I had issues with it at first because the grips are not well made. The grips leave a wide gap between right hand grip and trigger lever, that caused it to not fire. So I took a piece of old credit card and snugged it in the gap and now it works flawlessly. Other than that you could just buy the OG grips but good luck finding them and these look better anyways. Beretta makes some of the most quality guns so they should have done something about that but it was an easy fix.

Fun little gun works great with my Texas Silencer Scoundrel. I wouldn’t actually use this as any kind of backup pistol. It’s finicky about ammo. The whole reason the tip up barrel was designed is because it’s a beast to rack the slide manually. At least when new. It does break in to a degree after a few hundred rounds. No sights to speak of but again, it’s fun to shoot. If you buy it for a plinker you’ll be happy. If you buy it thinking it would be a great pocket pistol to protect yourself, you won’t be happy. Fit and finish is what you expect from Beretta. It’s a good looking gun in my opinion. The trigger is pretty much what you expect in a pocket pistol. Truely awful. It’s spongy and long in double action. In single action it’s ok. Again. I ONLY recommend it as a plinker. As a plinker it’s 5/5.

This Silver Black Beretta Bobobcat 21a is my second 21a. Bud’s pricing and Beretta’s rebate was too good to pass up. I love these little guns for a backup carry pistol and a range toy. They are an absolute hoot to shoot! I have found these pistols to be very reliable especially for being chambered for a rimfire cartridge. These pistols have shot bulk pack .22lr ammo for me with no issues. This pistol was out of the box reliable with zero “break in” issues. I also enjoy the tip up barrel option for loading. It makes single shot shooting an easy task with young and new shooters. The short barrel makes a .22lr sound like a cannon and the giggle factor of that is a 10 out of 10! Beware soda and soup cans, the pocket cat is on the loose! The sights barely exist and the bullets seem to “tumble” after 30 or so yards however the intent of this tool is for much closer. IMO at 10 yards this thing is bull’s eye accurate and that is where the fun is with this gun. If you’re tempted to buy one, DO IT! Worth every penny because it IS quality. Holding this micro pistol puts a smile on everyone’s face! Stay safe out there!

I made a review on the Bobcat 21A in FDE which i love and the Gorilla is a fitting name for this version due to the awesome grips. Little more meat for pocket carry vs. smooth plastic grips but the gorilla is great for jacket pocket carry. Perfect finish, tight tolerances, solid firearm. Yet to fire but that’s after the new year they all go to the range. I bought 6 of these simply because Bud’s prices with rebate have beaten every body. I have never found one of these, maybe you have under $498 in the last several years and at Bud’s prices with Beretta rebate, why not. Some people doubt the .22 LR for self defense but, to each his own.

I had been wanting a Bobcat for a good while and with Bud’s sale plus the factory rebate, I decided to buy one. As usual, Bud’s made the process super easy and it arrived to my local FFL in a few days- even during the Christmas rush. The Bobcat seems to be well made and feels good even in my large hands. The only issue I have (and it’s a big one) is that it’s nearly impossible for me to rack the slide. It’s the most difficult of any gun I have ever tried. Period. If it wasn’t for the tip-up barrel, I most definitely wouldn’t want it. Hopefully it will loosen up after several thousand rounds!
