Taurus GX4 XL TORO 9mm 3.7" Black 2 10RD - 10+1 Rounds

This Taurus shoots very well and no failures of any sort. Material selection is excellent. I have run both steel and brass ammo with no issues at all. If there was any negative it would be the finish on the slide. Upgrade parts such as sights and recoil springs are well made and cheap compared to other manufacturers. Taurus has up'd their game.

The first time I took it to the range I was hitting steel but the front site was hard for me to see (the white dot is small) I wear glasses, other guys I let shoot it said it was ok. The grips are good and I like the texture they put below the slide where you put your thumb. I need the extended baseplate for the magazine which 1 came with the gun. shot it with both back straps and kept the large one on the gun. I will most likely put night sights on it and probably a red dot since I bought the toro model. It's been to the range twice with 150 rounds through it with no issues. I own several Taurus firearms including semi autos and revolvers and I will not hesitate to purchase another. Buds....what can I say they are always easy to deal with, I have purchased several guns from them and everything goes smooth from viewing the guns to getting questions answered to making the purchase. Folks who are lucky enough to live close to Buds (unlike me) can save by paying with cash. 5 stars to Buds and Taurus, The Taurus GX4XL TORO will be put in rotation with my Taurus G2C for my carry gun hopefully I can find a holster that fits them both.

Only a few gripes keep it from being 5 stars. This gx4xl feels phenomenal in the hand, fatter grip than many other micro compacts and it really makes it feel like more shootable gun. Long slide rails give a glass-on-glass smoothness when racking the slide. Trigger is better than it has a right to be, a tad on the heavy side, but short take up, and an infallible wall with ZERO creep. You cannot get any creep or slop from this trigger, extremely predictable and really helps with precision shooting. 20 oz is heavier than smaller guns like 365 and hellcat, and you can feel it when shooting, cuts a lot of the snappiness out, but doesn't feel too huge on the hip. My complaint: the (non Glock compatible) sights and optic cut. The optic cut is very shallow and the sights are normal height. My other carry piece, a shadow CR920 has a nice deep optic cut That allows you to fully co-witness with the normal height iron sights, which is fantastic. This Taurus forces the Red Dot to sit high and fully obscures the iron sights. And it turns out the sights are NOT Glock compatible. There is a small circular recess drilled into the top of the slide, where the Glock screw seats into the front sight, but it is not wide enough for a Glock front sight tool to fit into, so you cannot fully tighten the front sight screw. Complete waste of $100 and not a resolution to my co-witnessing problem.
