I still can't believe how lite this rifle is. When I took it out of the box I thought I was holding a rimfire rifle. I am 70 years old and my son and l were lucky enough to draw an Elk tag in New Mexico, so I wanted a lite rifle to not hold me down. I mounted a Leupold 3VXHD 3.5 x 10 x40mm scope on it and the looks and balance is great. Buying online from Buds was a flawless experience and they beat the price from other online sites by almost 200 bucks. Can't beat that! ...5 stars+ in my book.

The Howa super light, is in fact super light. Half the price of Christiansen. After 60 rounds the mount on the rifle came loose, Up to that point it was a good shooter doing one inch @100 yds. I must acknowledge that recoil is mighty stiff. After the 3rd shot, I wondered if I’d made a mistake, but it is A 4lb 10 oz .308 rifle, what did I expect…hahahah. I had a muzzle brake installed and it reduced recoil by half at least, maybe more. But this comes with muzzle brake sound and shock wave. I drove to the other side of a canyon on a dead sand road and went to shooting all the way across at a rock wall. 100 yard zero on center cross hair, I used the third line down on crosshairs, if I did my part, it’s a minute of cantelope at that range. I say it’s a winner if you’re hunting dinner.
