I am a former LEO out of Louisiana. I was first introduced to the 1911A1 in the Army and have been in love with the platform ever since. I have always liked the commander size frame. Our department did not allow the carrying of the 1911's on or off duty because of any number of reasons, but not good ones. As age crept up on me, shooting a .45 ACP became somewhat an issue. Enter the Springfield 1911 Range Officer Champion in 9mm. I told the wife this was to be my carry firearm once I retired. I ordered it and it was an absolute dream. Very accurate out to 25 yards (Louisiana POST Requirement). I have qualified with it twice since I retired. It has never let me down. The only thing I have done to it was replace the OME Mags with Wilson and the grips with Springfield crossed cannon wood grips. I see where Springfield has discontinued the RO line, what a shame. I could go in but it's accurate, easy to load and shoot. Nothing more needs to said.

I have A LOT of guns and this is on my short list of favorites. I shoot it better than any 45. Perfect craftsmanship. Lethal, brutally crisp trigger. As good as any custom trigger job I have. I actually love the pin in the guide rod method of takedown. One of the easiest 1911s to strip besides government.

What a well balanced, great shooting gun. It feels so good in your hand and recoil is very light The only issue I have had is the feeding of 9mm reloads. You need to full length resize your cases in order to get them to feed properly. So far all brands of production ammo have feed without issue. I would love to get a full size 45 Range Officer to add to my collection next. Bud's shipped quickly and there were no issues with the purchase and receiving the gun at a local FFD. I highly recommend the Springfield Armory line of 1911's.

What a sweet firearm. Took it out first time this weekend. Only shot about 100 rounds, but it worked flawlessly. Very accurate. Comfortable to shoot. Hardly notice the recoil. If you are a 1911 fan, and want something a bit more economical to shoot than .45 acp, you could not go wrong with this little sweetheart.

I have had this weapon for several months now and can't say enough about it. At the range, the sights are dead on. After about 600 rounds, there have been no FFF, no FEs or any other type of hick-ups. It has quickly become my daily carry. With arthritis setting in, my ability to handle .45 loads very often, have made this 9mm a very good alternative. As far as Bud's is concerned, I will come back to Buds time and again, and as of this posting, I am waiting on delivery of yet another 9mm (Berettta 92 FS Inox.) Buds beats all the LGS in the area, not to mention gun shows .
