European American Armory Akkar Churchill 612 Tactical 12 Gauge Shotgun - Blue/Black, 18.5" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Synthetic, 3" Chamber, Pistol Grip Stock

I have owned rifles for 50 years and handguns for somewhat less than that but this is my 1st shotgun. I was not really looking for a shotgun but an article in Gun Tests piqued my interest in this Akkar Churchill 612 tactical shotgun. What I like about this weapon is the feel of it at the shoulder and the sights. I'm not really into any shotgun sports so my intention is to get familiar with the way this weapon handles (have not fired it yet) then keep it handy in the house for emergencies. I also like the ease this shotgun breaks down for cleaning or maintenance but I cannot recommend it as I am not familiar enough with this weapon type.

First off purchases through buds have been pretty good thus far. As far as the Churchill goes not to shabby. If you like the pistol grip/stock configuration then you will probably like this. The threaded breacher is great. Pic rail on top of the receiver with ghost sight. A red fiber optic front sight in between metal blades gives confidence of durability. I have to gripes about this weapon. First the pistol grip/stock. The pistol grip/stock is not adjustable and I find that the length of pull is a little to much for comfort. I second that the loading port door tears up the back of my thumb while loading shells. Aftermarket support is obsolete. The Churchill ran standard Rio Royal 00 Buck, Hornady Custom Rifled Slugs, and Remington Turkey Loads just fine. If you don't care about aftermarket support, the loading port gate, and the length of pull this is a good shotgun.

I like the gun, I mainly shoot slugs and buckshot I reload out of it. The gun seems to be well made. The only issue I am having with it is once in a while it seems to strike the primer light. Usually it will fire if I cycle the Shell a second time. I did have one Shell I cycled it through 3 times, it never fired, I put it in my citadel warthog and it fired the first time. As of now I have been using tula brand primers that are about 10 years old. I have used the last of those primers, and I'll be using flocchi primers I just bought last fall, hopefully I won't have any issues with them. The experience I'm having with this particular gun, it cycles flawlessly, but I do get a misfire with it once in awhile I would be hesitant to trust my life to this gun. I should also mention I did fire a box of #7 Winchester factory trap loads out of it, and it fired all of them without any issues. With the occasional misfire I have been experiencing, could be old primers, I don't know for sure, I would still reccomend buying it
