Very pleased with this pistol. Out of the box we were nailing expired yogurt tubs. I made a couple of clicks for windage and it was what I hoped for in bullet placement. Highly recommend.

for a long barrel, it is actually well balanced when aiming, the pistol shoots great and the action feels good

As the owner of a 4 5/8" Standard (Mk I) and 6.5" bull barrel MkII Ruger pistol, the Mk IV finally solves the take down and cleaning issues we all hate, plus it allows for different uppers to be utilized on the same frame with a 1-minute switch of the parts. Additional uppers can be found at some aftermarket gun seller's sites to increase versatility. I paid 35 bucks for a 5.5" bull barrel upper and now have two guns. (The uppers on Ruger pistols have the serials not the lowers, so a new upper will have to go through a FFL.) Originally a bit gritty, the trigger pull was OK. Maybe after a detail strip and cleaning, followed up with years of use, would smooth it out to match the triggers on my other pistols. I wasn't patient enough to wait that long. I will recommend that Volquartsen or similar aftermarket trigger parts be installed to really make the gun shine. The magazine release is no longer in the heel, which is nice unless you use thumbrest target grips like I do for my target guns. I had to Dremel out some extra relief space for the magazine release button in order to drop the mags with the wider target stocks. Accuracy is really good no matter what I shoot through it, and with a 10" barrel the pistol velocity is pretty close to what a .22 rifle will do. So far it has been very reliable with a variety of .22 ammo, even the bulk-pack stuff that is about all that the post-COVID world has on the shelves now. The uppers are drilled/tapped for scope or dot sights, but I left the 10" open-sighted to make use of the extended sight radius. If you're looking for a dedicated target .22, I think that the Mk IV 10" model is hard to beat.

1st Impression MKIV 10”. I
First time I’ve ever got a gun with a sailors chest for a case and it kind of makes the gun appear smaller than it is until you remove it from the case. Holding this gun In my hands and giving it a quick visual l was very impressed. The fit and finish are excellent with a special note to the quality of the aluminum grip frame. Thank you Ruger for making the warning hard to find. What a surprise to find it came with a real target style rear sight which gives a very good unobstructed sight picture. I guess the only thing I found that left me with a sour taste in my mouth was the grip panel threaded holes in the frame seem a little shallow for thread depth. Maybe some grip locating pins would also help as an aid to prevent cross threading the aluminum threads. The push button take down feature is a nice however not a factor in my purchase. Job well done Ruger after worrying about the future of the MK series living through the III series years you have help reinforce my belief in life after death. Now if I can only figure out how to pocket carry this thing in the same pocket holster that I use for my S&W 351C Air Lite. I hope Ruger comes out again with the Great Eight which I also would gladly add to my collection of Rimfire handguns.

I have been looking for a Ruger Mark II with the 10" barrel but only found one at a pawn shop and thought it was overpriced. When I saw the Mark IV with a 10" barrel at Buds I thought I had better get it while they were available. I have a Buckmark Varmint with the 9 7/8" barrel and really like it. I like the new Ruger as well! The trigger is better than I thought it would be. Thanks Buds for the impeccable service!

Bought this to replace a MkII that I had several years ago and it had a 10” barrel and was very excited when I saw Ruger was offering the MkIV with the 10” barrel. I am very pleased with this MkIV as it shoots very well and very easy to clean and maintain. If you’re like me and have a passion for .22 caliber guns and Ruger as well, buy one and you won’t regret it and as always Buds is great. I had placed this gun on my please notify me when in stock and in about a week I received a email from Buds that it was in stock and I ordered it and in about 4 days I had it in my hand. Great job Buds and Ruger
