Savage Arms 110 Elite Precision 6.5mm Creedmoor Bolt Action Rifle - Gray, 26" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Adjustable Stock

Love it, would absolutely buy it again. Great price @ Buds Gun Shop! Initial loaded development yielded a 1/4" 3 shot group at 100yds with Lapua Small primer Brass, Hybrid 100V, & Hornady 147ELDs., a personal best! With all the adjustments, no contorting yourself to the rifle, simply make the tool less adjustments and it fits me perfect. There is a decent amount of slop in the action (I hear inherent to Savage 110s) and the bolt handle rides close to the optic, but some aftermarket solutions can take care of that. I would have given 5 stars, but the trigger broke at the second trip to the range with just under a 100 rounds down the barrel. I sent it off to Savage, I'm sure it'll get worked out, but that shouldn't happen on their tier 1 offering. That said, I love this rifle and see it as having permanent residence in my safe.

No shooting yet. Waiting on a scope. This rifle has a 24" barrel not 26". Trigger is amazing out of the box, crisp & light touch to go click. Safety works perfectly. Rifle is quite heavy out of the box. Adding a high power optic & bipod, well you probably don't want to transport this on foot very far if you're not in great physical condition. The stock, butt to forearm is all metal. Butt stock has adjustable padded cheek rest & padded pull length, but the stock is not detachable or folding. Bolt is a snug fit but works perfectly. Rifle has a 20MOA Weaver type rail on it. Nowhere on the rifle does it say "Elite", so I don't know if it's any different than the Savage Precision 110 that's ~$300 cheaper. I'm not paying more than this for a different brand of rifle that looks the same as this one. This one is expensive enough. Be aware, with >9% taxes, & $21 insurance fee, this rifle goes from being <$1700 to >$1900. Yay government bureaucracy! Other reviews say it's accurate. I'm waiting on a scope & then I will see for myself.

This is a great gun for entry long range shooting..some people have had issues with ejection, but I haven't had any..the bolt isn't real smooth but seams to be getting better the more I use it. It did take around 80 rounds to break the barrel in. The last time I shot it I put 8 rounds in the size of a nickel at a 100 yards.

What a fun shooter. The aluminum MDT chassis has most every adjustment you want and that Savage 110 action and barrel is impressive. I was pleasantly surprised how well the muzzle brake works and combined with the rifles weight I am able to see it print on 300yd and further targets. Just got the barrel broken in this morning - ran a box of S&B 131gr sp just for the break in and get the scope dialed in. Pushed it out to 200yd to get my zero set and using factory Hornady match ELD 147gr, ended up with a 5/8" group at 200 yds and still held a tad over 3/4" at 300 yds. Can't wait to get this barrel burned in a little and work up some hand loads. I have every confidence the groups will tighten up. FYI - the glass was a Sightron SIII 10-50X60. As always you can count on a great price buying from Bud's and excellent after the sale support!

Savage barrel, blue printed action, and an accu trigger sitting in an MDT chassis.
Love this gun!
