This stock is incredible. It looks and feels amazing compared to the Ruger stock the rifle came with. Setup was fairly simple. If youre on the fence, get this thing. Buds got it here FAST, and they had the best price I could find.

Easy install and really helped tighten up my Ruger American predator’s groups. I can consistently print 1” groups with decent ammo. It does make the rifle heavier but that’s to be expected at this price point. All in all, a very well designed and executed stock.

This product is outstanding. It is definitely an expensive piece of kit for what is a budget rifle platform, but it greatly improved the ergonomics (cheek weld, grip angle, length of pull) for me over the factory stock. Plus, I much prefer to use the AICS box mags for which this stock allows. It may not be for everyone, but for those who have a Ruger American and love the platform enough to put some money into upgrading it, this is IMO the absolute best upgrade you can make, second only to a good piece of glass and even then it's a close second.

Quality stock from MAGPUL. Easy to change out - takes only a few minutes. Make sure you read the short install instructions, it makes it go so much quicker. One downside is the added weight, but this helps with recoil. Adjustable length of pull takes only removal of one screw and included removable spacers takes you down to a small adult or young hunter all the way up to a very tall person with a long length of pull. This also helps when shooting in the summer or the winter with heavier clothing on. The cheek piece or riser is also removable but you need to order a taller or shorter unit from MAGPUL or Buds. The barrel and action are raised enough with this stock to give you a completely free floated barrel all the way to the front recoil lug. A double layer of heavy card stock easily slides under the barrel without touching the stock. The magazine release lever is sturdy and takes a bit of force to drop the AICS magazine by pushing forward with a finger like on an AK style rifle. You no longer have the flush 4 round capacity of the Ruger Factory OEM 308 Multi-Caliber magazine which is very lightweight and has a plastic latch/release that sometimes breaks with heavy use. I use the MAGPUL 5 and 10 round AICS magazines without any issues. I can't speak for other brands or metal magazines. You may need to make adjustments to the feed lips on them for reliable feeding and extraction. You can add rails and accessories to the slots in the stock, but you need to drill the stock and purchase standard sling swivel studs to use a sling as mounted on most rifles. There is a removable plug on both sides of the rear of the stock to use a Quick Release swivel, but they are not included. For the price, MAGPUL should have them already installed. I am very happy with my purchase and Buds shipped quickly and the outer box and packing they used made a safe trip for this great upgrade. Highly recommend.

The Magpul Hunter Ruger American stock is a good fit. It is heavier, but offers a huge free float channel is adjustable for LOP and has options for cheek rest height. It will accept M-Lok add ons. Other than being heavier, which I knew about already, it is a huge upgrade from the flimsy OEM stock. So, if you want to keep your rifle a lightweight field gun, this is not the stock for you. The stock is set up to use Magpul AI style mags. Comes with one five round mag.

Solid stock much better than the flimsy original stock. Buds had the best price by far and quick shipping as always.
