The descriptions says it is a gas nitride finish. I thought all G48's were considered Gen 5 and had a nDLC finish like the other Gen 5's. Anyone know for sure what finish this is?

That's weird on other sites it's saying finish is gas nitride plus the slide finish is is black nDLC. I'd imagine Glock would know what they put on their slide and as Edward showed they state it's nDLC finish. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between the two Glock 48s currently listed other than this one being made in AUS vs the other one that is made in the USA? There is a significant price difference-this one is listed for $549 and the other one is listed for $458. I have read that the US Glocks are built to the same standards as the Austrian ones.

I'm not seeing any difference, but buds prices go by how many in stock. So two of the same pistols prices might vary significantly because one warehouse has more in stock than the other warehouse. Hope this helps.

It's a glock. Shoots like a glock, looks like a glock. I owned the 48 for 2 years (I've waited forever to do this review lol) and never had a malfunction of any kind. Aftermarket parts and accessories are plentiful and its a great gun. However notice I said that I OWNED it. I ended up selling it this year

My final decision on a new CCW came down to the Glock 48 and I’m really happy with this choice. This Glock is the best combination of the slim line frame Glocks for grip size, barrel length, and sight plain while carrying like a much smaller pistol. I have always liked the stock Glock sights with a rear u shape and front dot since I bought my first Glock in 1986. With an after market magazine and mag release I get 15+1 rounds over the stock 10+1. For me the Glock 48 is the best of all worlds in a carry gun.

I keep talking myself into buying this model, but end up selling it. It “feels good in the hand” is not a good reason to buy something. This feels good, but I cannot shoot it well… and that is what matters. While very reliable and beautiful, it is not for me. Try one out, you might like it.
