They shoot great out my 1 in 7 twist AR.close to same accuracy as 60grain varmit loads.

In the past I've always been extremely satisfied with all types of Federal ammo. I believe Federal produces a high quality product with one exception. This week I finally had a chance to try out the 224 Valkyrie Gold Medal Sierra Matchking (90 grain) ammo in the red & black box. I started with the Federal Fusion 90 grain ammo at 100 yards, I'm familiar with this ammo, and held 2.5 MOA group. I then switched over to the Sierra Matchking. WOW, what a disappointment!. Couldn't hold a 7 MOA with the Sierra Matchking. The Gold Medal Sierra Matchking fires inconsistently. Only my opinion but it appears the power load in each round was not controlled properly. As soon as I changed back to the Fusion my grouping tightened up to 2.5 MOA again. I notice Federal has changed the box on their new Gold Medal Sierra Matchking 90 grain ammo. I wonder if that's to distance themselves from the old product that doesn't work well. I bought 20 boxes (400 rounds) of the Gold Medal Sierra Matchking in the red & black box. This Monday I'm calling Federal to demand a refund or at least an exchange to their new ammo. I'm not an expert but based on my experience this week I can't recommend the Gold Medal Sierra Matchking 90 grain ammo in the red & black box. I hope Federal has corrected the problem in their NEW Gold Medal Sierra Matchking 90 grain ammo.
