I have a Cowboy pistol, it shoots 357 mag & 38,s. Would the Taurus require + p ammo? Is there a difference?
Thanks

Hi Robert and welcome. There is a significant difference between the two in 4 inch plus barrel lengths. less so in snub nosed pistols due to +P requiring 4 inches of barrel length to completely burn the additional powder. Stick with standard .38 Special for snubbies for quicker follow up shots, less muzzle blast and fireball due to unburnt powder (point of diminishing returns). Longer barrels, the difference can be 80 to over 100 fps additional velocity. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Hi Robert, this is rated for .38sp +P ammo, but it does not require it. You can shoot standard .38sp rounds also.
The .38 Special +P ammo is a more powerful version of the .38 Special cartridge. It delivers increased velocity and energy, making it suitable for self-defense purposes.
The increased power of +P ammo leads to greater recoil and muzzle flip, which can affect your shooting experience.
Stay safe & have a great day!
