Hi Walter and welcome. No without some legal issues Sir. Once under 16 inches, the classification changes to a SBR or Short Barreled Rifle. It would then need to be registered as a NFA firearm and a $200 Tax Stamp paid. This is a average 6 month process till completion. Cheers and stay safe! Walter, I'm not finding any manufacturer selling replacement barrels for this at the moment. If you can find one that fits yes. Instead of replacing it would probably be easier to get a gunsmith to cut the barrel down to 16 inches and rethread it. You can't go any lower than 16 inches without reclassifying it as a sbr/short barreled rifle and require a $200 tax stamp. If you plan on adding a muzzle brake of some sort you could cut it to 14.5 inches and permanently attach a muzzle brake by pin/welding it. Since the muzzle brake would be pinned/welded the ATF considers it as part of the barrel to make it 16 inches. That would be the route I'd go by getting a gunsmith to cut the barrel. Hope this helps.

If you changed it to a barrel length shorter than 16" it would be considered an SBR & would need an NFA tax stamp if I'm not mistaken.

Walter, RIA does not make shorter barrels for this gun, it either comes with 18" or 20" barrel. You would need to have a gunsmith cut it down to 16" for you.
Stay safe & have a great day!
