Is this walnut or birch hardwood?
Mike, looks like the stock is made of beechwood. Hope this helps.
Mike, Ruger & Talo both list this as 'hardwood sporter', it is actually grade of Beechwood that they simply label as hardwood. The models that use American Walnut are listed as such. Have a great day!

Mike, this rifle Ruger 10/22 Light Varmint Target Rifle chambered in 22 LR has a Stainless finish with an American Beech Wood stock. Cheers and stay safe!
