NO, standard subsonic 223 would NOT cycle in this. In matter of fact, standard subsonic 223 would NOT cycle in vast majority of AR that is not modified. Only way for it to cycle is to use specially made subsonic ammo such as Atomic sub ammo or Beck ammo which is design specifically to cycle while being subsonic. I hope this helps!
