  • James, This stripped receiver is not categorized as a rifle or pistol. You may use this component to build a rifle or a pistol. Know your state laws.

  • This is just a stripped reciever, the only thing that would make it a pistol is if you put a barrel shorter then 16" on it, which you could do, but then you'd just need to run a brace instead of a stock, most ruger 10/22 barrels Re 18½" so you'll likely be good to run whatever stock or brace you want
