Experts - please explain is there danger in store-bought 308 in a rifle stamped as 7.62 mm? I've been told in the past that 7.62 ammo in 308 rifle is safe. Is the reverse true for a rifle such as this for stock ammo (not specialized handloads)?

no 308 ammo is not safe in a 7.62 nato (only) gun the 308 is a hotter round and creates a higher chamber pressure but the mossberg is actually stamped for both 308 and 7.62
