Has anybody fired both, wood stock and synthetic stock? Any comments how they compare to each other? How's the quality of the wood?

Lev, the quality of the wood is actually quite good on this rifle all things considered. The wood stock is slightly stiffer than the synthetic stock model and I get ever so slightly more accuracy from the wood stock savage models. The only real advantage of the synthetic stock is durability. 90% of my bolt guns are wood. Cheers and stay safe!
