the trigger is very light but being a compact the recoil is sharper than a standard full size 1911 but still not to
bad (its a heavy gun) in a self
defense situation you would never notice the recoil

Robert, the GI Standard comes with a crisp light factory 4- to 6-pound trigger for a great experience right out of the box. Recoil is there but will depend on your choice of ammunition. I highly recommend the Speer Gold Dot : budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/15833/speer+45+acp+230+grain+gold+dot+hollow+point --------------------------------- https://armscor.com/firearms/ria/gi-series/gi-standard-cs-45-acp1/
