  • I know it's a silly question, but because its made of nylon and aluminum, if enough rounds are put through it and the barrel begins to get hot enough, will this begin to melt and deform? Or will it just get hot?

  • Lloyd, Yea, but you would need a select fire lower and about 4000 rounds of ammo and mag dump continuously. The gas tube would probably melt or fail before the forend melted. Normal use will not melt this accessory.

  • I’m sure if you have a full auto then it will eventually melt after so many rounds that’s if the rifle itself doesn’t give out.

  • In the practical world I would not worry about it melting as I don't think you can shoot a gun hot enough to melt it

  • Lloyd, this will get really hot as it has an Aluminum heat shield. Once that barrel gets red hot, the nylon will surely go. It would take a lot to get to that point though. Cheers!
