Stewart, Steady diet of heavy +P loads will eventually wear out any gun and the shooter. Especially .45 Colt. Standard .45 Colt rounds out of this 2 1/2" barrel will be a handful. Charter Arms are stout revolvers and will handle it, but not a lot of fun at the range.

I would avoid the hi performance loads like Buffalo bore there is not much that a normal 45LC load (not a cowboy action load) will not handle.
