According to the Savage catalog the Hunter model has a carbon steel barrel with a matte finish, not stainless steel. The picture looks to be of the Apex Storm XP model instead so the image is incorrect. Vortex lists the eye relief for the Crossfire II 3-9x40 as being 3.8". This rifle features a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 riflescope. The eye relief is about 3 1/2 inches to 4 inches. I have one. I think the photo is incorrect. It is not a matte stainless barrel.

Mike, this UPC is a Blued 24" Carbon Steel Barrel and the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 Riflescope has an Eye Relief of 3.8 inches.
