  • 1:8 twist and 24" barrel. How far can you get out with this rifle with shelf ammo or handloads. I mention handloads because i just got into it and im capable of making the rounds

  • Erik, Let's be real. Unless your at a huge range, in the desert or mountains 200 to 300 is what your gonna get accurately. Depends on the optic, shooting conditions and your skill. The firearm and correct rounds will go a long way. Get someplace where you can try it and find out if you can seize on the 1000 yard potential of this firearm. The bullet drop on a quality 62 gr round is 6 ft at 500 yards and 45 ft at 1000 yards. Be real. The situation is worse for a 62 grain .223 FMJ bullet since the higher weight also reduces muzzle velocity to around 2,700 FPS. If you zero that in at 50 yards, it will hit 4.2 inches low at 200 yards. At 500 yards you hit 72.2 inches (6 feet) low and at 1,000 yards it is 549.3 inches low or more than 45 feet.

  • for shooting paper 500-600 yards. for hunting or self defense 100-200 yards for hunting deer or larger game In my opinion a 223 is to small at any yardage

  • The 1:8 twist will handle the heavier longer bullets which will make it effective at longer ranges. Your effective range will be determined by the size of the target. If you are shooting human silhouettes you will be able to hit at 800 yards. Prairie dogs being small are tough to hit much past 400, coyotes to 600.

  • Erik, 6 to 7 hundred yards consistently and with a 20MOA Scope Mount for extra dial up for drop compensation, 900 to 1000 yards. Of course, if you are Bob Lee Swagger, then it's effective as long as the bullet is in the air.

  • Hard to say exactly. Plenty of hearsay that people reach out to 1000 yds.
