yes it is chambered for the 5.56 NATO from the Kel-Tec site "SU16C™

Larry, the receiver on this is marked SU-16 .223 REM and as such I would not shoot 5.56 with it. Green tip ammo AKA M855 really isn't that special for most purposes in my humble opinion.
