  • I see that people are bragging about shooting Greentip which is 5.56, but nowhere does it say anything in the description about anything but .223. Is this weapon rated for the higher pressure 5.56? Made the mistake of buying a Ruger American and was told it would handle 5.56 by CTD only to find out Ruger will not warranty it for anything but .223......

  • Larry, due to safety and warranty reasons, I would verify whether or not directly with Kel-Tec Customer Service at Phone (321) 631-0068 or by email inquiry here : keltecweapons.com/contact/

  • I suggest that you contact Kel-Tec to be 100% sure (the keltec sites says its a 5.56 nato "Like all the SU16 models, it’s chambered for the common 5.56 NATO cartridge" You can contact Kel-Tec CNC Industries
at Phone (321) 631-0068 or ust the link keltecweapons.com/contact/

  • yes it is chambered for the 5.56 NATO from the Kel-Tec site "SU16C™
The Charlie model offers an under-folding stock for compact storage, however this variant still operates in the folded position with a metal GI magazine or proprietary KELTEC 10-round magazine. Like all the SU16 models, it’s chambered for the common 5.56 NATO cartridge, comes equipped with a Picatinny-style rail up top and it’s excellent for outdoor activities that require a lightweight, compact rifle." keltecweapons.com/firearms/rifles/su16/

  • Larry, the receiver on this is marked SU-16 .223 REM and as such I would not shoot 5.56 with it. Green tip ammo AKA M855 really isn't that special for most purposes in my humble opinion.
