  • Hollis, the F in its model number would indicate that it is indeed a type F which has a safety-decocker, putting the gun on safe decocks the hammer and also acts as a normal safety. A type G would have a model number along the lines of JXC9G--- or similar and those are the decocker only models.

  • HOLLIS, F in model number stands for firing pin block. Once you de-cock you would have to put safety/decocker on red to fire double action see following F series description from Beretta website:--------Px4 Storm Type F
    Double/single action. Ambidextrous manual safety on the slide with hammer decocking function, automatic firing pin block safety.
