Assuming this is similar to my old Browning Buck Mark: since this is a striker fired weapon, I store mine cocked. The only way to de-cock it is to pull the trigger. Use your own judgement on if you can do this safely (unloaded of course), but I don't think it hurts it to stay cocked. Mine is older than I am and I've never had a problem with it.
