  • Peter - the 45-70 models all have a long cylinder, to accommodate the cartridge length. They're still the Bisley grip and you can still install after market grips as you choose. The longer cylinder would not affect the grip.

  • the frame length is determined by the cylinder length require for the caliber all 45-70 BFRs are long cylinder From MRI the long frame calibers are .30/30 WIN., .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, .45LC/.410, .45/70 Gov't., .460 S&W, .500 S&W and the short frame calibers are .454 Casull, .44 Magnum, .50AE, .500 JRH, .500 Linebaugh, 475 Linebaugh/. you can ge the Bisley grip frame from MRI

  • in 45-70 they should all be the long cylinder frame I think some retailers just left it off
