Is it possible to mount a blinding strobe or other light (300 lumens+) on the barrel? If so, which light might fit this shotgun? Thanks.

There are many clamp on rails that will fit the magazine tube amazon.com/Streamlight-Mag-Tube-Rail-SuperTac/dp/B0028LXG5A
It is certainly possible to mount a light, which light in particular is up to you as there should be a mounting solution for almost anything. As James G posted, you can get mounts for the magazine tube and then any picatinny rail flashlight mount would work. I would add that there are also picatinny rail forends you can buy that would allow you to mount a light to the pump handle if you have a preference, one pro for that would be the light is right by your hand so you can manipulate the switch with ease. Surefire also makes a forend with an integrated light; however, those are very pricey (close to $400).
Jonathan, I would go with this configuration, then you can mount virtually any 1 inch light you want. -- gggaz.com/mossberg-590-sling-and-flashlight-combo-mount.html
