  • I see some of the newer Cimarron/Pietta/Uberti guns give you the ability to safely load 6 rounds instead of 5 without the danger of accidental discharges from resting the hammer on a live primer and accidentally hitting the hammer while still being able to load all 6 chambers. I was wondering if this model had the new "Retractable/ Floating firing pin" safety feature or not.

  • Linda, This does not have floating firing pin, has pivoting firing pin on hammer. You can load 6 if you use the cylinder rod under the hand ejector it will lock hammer back. Some shooters call pushing cylinder rod back "the shipping safety".Most shooters do not use this feature and only load 5 rounds for safe single action firing. Load one skip one then 4 more. Can load 6 on range to fire, but if going to holster should just use the load 1 skip one load 4 system or lock cylinder rod back.

  • Cimarron has been using the "Floating Firing Pin" design on it's revolvers for the past 2 or 3 years so this will depend on the date of manufacture of this pistol Linda. Cimarron may be able to answer this for you at (1877-749-4861)
